‘Meet Harriet’ Art Process
‘Meet Harriet’ is the first in an ongoing series of character portraits. Each character is presented in an illustrated frame, along with the first sentence of their book. This is a very self-indulgent venture, as I’d love to have the series printed and hanging in my writing studio one day.
This series is inspired by vintage book illustrations and old photographs, and I very much wanted to capture an old-world style, as well as add to the world building of my storyverse.
This piece was done digitally, though it started with a traditional sketch, so the process was straightforward. Take a peek at some of the various stages below!
